Maria Garcia

Vice President of Supply Chain

Maria Garcia oversees CPS Energy’s Supply Chain team, which includes procurement, warehousing and supplier development functions. Prior to this role, Maria served as Vice President of Community Engagement & Corporate Responsibility. Maria was able to deliver to our community the first responder customer unit – the Customer Response Unit (CRU), as well as Community Outreach, Public Safety and Education, and the Casa Verde Weatherization Program. Additionally, Maria had oversight of the Corporate Responsibility team, who delivers volunteerism, sponsorship, and educational investments back into our community. Maria worked in Supply Chain in her first 10 years here; she has been with CPS Energy for 23 years.

Prior to joining CPS Energy, Maria was a tenured federal employee, working with the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Air Force at the former Kelly AFB.

Maria has both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word, and is a graduate of the Executive Education, Accelerated Development Program at Rice University. Additionally, Maria was a graduate of Leadership San Antonio Class 40. Maria represents CPS Energy on numerous boards of directors within the San Antonio community, such as the San Antonio Manufacturing Association, the American Heart Association and the Advisory Board for the University of the Incarnate Word HEB School of Business. Maria was a recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal Women Leadership Awards in 2018, and the Palo Alto College Outstanding Former Student Award in 2019.
