I want to thank all of our corporate sponsors for the amazing support they have shown this organization over the years and especially our last year, 2020. Despite the unusual year with dealing with Covid 19 issues, AWE continued to assist members and expand our reach.
It is exciting and challenging to be a part of an energy industry which continues to be responsive to the many challenges and opportunities facing it. Energy does “power the world” and the United States has become a leader on many fronts.
Though we had planned our annual Power Matters Conference, the myriad of restrictions related to Covid prevented us from pursuing that. We will continue to host our annual conference on substantive energy issues as the situation will permit.
We are currently planning a “virtual mini-conference with members of the energy industry in Israel” to be held on February 10, 2021. Representatives of Israel’s Ignite the Spark will speak on the energy industry in Israel as well as their work on energy storage technologies. Two of AWE’s Board will speak on ERCOT and its transition and utilities issues with transitioning from fossil fuels to carbon free.
My hope is a successful 2021 for all our organizations.
President and Board Chair
