Primary Purpose:

Coordinates, schedules and dispatches work assignments for Hazmat Operations within Environmental Services. Assists and monitors hazardous materials storage and non-hazardous waste activities. Prepares and maintains shipping documents, manifest, permits and disposal records. Adheres to record retention policies. Prepares emergency response and disposal contracts. Prepares Construction Contracting Management System (CCMS) & Accounts Payable (A/P) transactions. Coordinates Environmental and Safety mandatory training requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, schedules and dispatches work assignments to Company employees within Hazmat Operations and emergency response vendor personnel engaged in hazardous materials transportation, clean-up and waste disposal activities. Prepares the necessary paperwork and maintain dispatching files, logs and records.
  • Perform timekeeping and Construction Contract Management System (CCMS) administrative clerical tasks for Hazmat Operations. Supports emergency response vendor and disposal contracts. Monitor Diverse Business Enterprise (DBE) spend and vendor transactions. Dispatches support and Automated Roster Call Out System (ARCOS) related functions.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates hazardous waste disposal records through use of the Enviance Waste Track System. Participates in hazardous materials storage and waste disposal audits of vendors / agency inspections and Environmental & Safety Compliance Management Program (ESCMP).
  • Coordinates the annual training and certification of employees who handle hazardous waste. Schedules and sets up mandatory training classes. Maintains training records, manifest and permits specifically related to the Miramar Facility Temporary Storage Disposal Facility (TSDF). Performs record retention duties.
  • Keeps abreast of laws, rules and regulations regarding the transportation, storage and disposal of hazardous materials. Prepares hazardous waste and non hazardous waste disposal contracts. Prepares and manages Driver Vehicle Inspection Report Sheet (DVIRS) supporting Fleet compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of related work experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of SAP accounting system.
  • Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) timekeeping.
  • Working knowledge of Cornerstone Training program.

Other Qualifications:

  • May be called to respond on a 24-hour per day basis to emergency calls regarding hazardous materials spills.
