Position Purpose :
This position is the entering professional engineering level. Individual normally work under close supervision; performs a variety of projects that have specific instructions and expected results. Provides engineering and technical support, oversight and direction related to system reliability and NERC/SERC regulatory compliance functions.

Position has the flexibility to be location in Louisville, Lexington, or Earlington, KY.

Job Description :
Examines and determines options, based upon technical knowledge of work required to meet existing and pending NERC Reliability Standards at company sites and facilities, which meet regulatory requirements and which can be integrated into operational processes.Routinely interfaces with other departments, entities and regulatory agencies, regarding reliability compliance issues. Replies to requests of information and data by NERC and SERC. Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods and gathers, correlates and analyzes specific data using established procedures. Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests and analysis.Prepares and presents reports, requiring self-analysis and recommendations, for related system reliability, compliance and/or engineering activities. Proposes, justifies and manages installation of equipment, structures and devices needed for the Company to comply with NERC Reliability Standards. Identifies and manages Company and contract personnel, provides budget, accrual and forecast data.Supports operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, problem identification, problem resolution activities.Directs the activities of coops, bargaining employees and other, as instructed, as they perform various activities including installation or checkout of new equipment, troubleshooting, testing, tuning, etc.Performs other duties as directed by management.
Education & Experience :
ABET accredited Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to use formal engineering training in practical application to power plant assignments.
Work Conditions :
Work location will be: Louisville, Lexington, or Earlington, KY. Mix of office and field work hours. May have to cross rough surfaces, climb stairs, or traverse construction sites.
Physical Effort :
Mix of sitting, stand, and walking. May have to travel moderate distances on foot over uneven terrain.
